Welcome to Diamond Lake Rocks!
An amateur exploration of stuff you find lakeside — geological and otherwise.
What is this site?
Diamond Lake Rocks is my small tribute to a pretty awesome lake up here in northeastern Washington. It’s home to fishing, scenic summer days, and a whole lotta rocks — some ancient, some just odd. I made this site to share the neat geologic finds I’ve picked up or photographed, plus a few nuggets about the lake’s past.
What’s Inside
- Rock Catalog: Photos, basic descriptions, and my best guesses on what they are.
- Geology Rundown: Stuff about gneiss, quartz monzonite, and floods that carved this place up.
- Lake History: Facts from Wikipedia, other sources (some scholarly, and some not so much), a few maps, and random lore.
- Gallery: Some pretty pictures. No real scientific merit — just vibes.
